Centers

Our two member centers at the Institute for Materials Research and Innovation are the Microscopy Center and the Accelerator Center.

Accelerator Center

The Louisiana Accelerator Center is home to a National Electrostatics Corporation 5SDH-2 1.7 MV tandem PelletronR accelerator. The accelerator is used for ion beam analysis, ion beam modification, and high energy focused ion beam microscopy. Research and applications of ion beams are the main activities at the Louisiana Accelerator Center.
